About Me
I am dedicated to helping you learn to protect your
skin
and stop further damage. My goal is to find solutions that fit your lifestyle and accomplish your aesthetic and wellness goals.
Growing up in Houston, Texas I worked hard through college, mostly in restaurants, but always wondered what life was like outside my big, beautiful state. Feeling restless, I sold everything I owned and moved to Costa Rica in 2002 where I lived on the Nicoya Peninsula for 2 years. After being involved in a serious motorcycle accident, I began physical therapy, weekly yoga classes and receiving regular massage. I discovered the benefits of massage
were more than just feeling good. The scar tissue on my leg began to diminish so quickly and I knew it was something I wanted to incorporate into my life regularly. I came back to the United States and researched massage
schools, Utah College of Massage
Therapy was at the top of the list.
After studying massage
in Salt Lake City for a year, I ventured to The Lowcountry to visit one of my brothers. The moment I saw the sunset over the marsh, I knew I was home. I packed up a truck and headed to Charleston in 2005. I began working at a downtown spa almost immediately and loved treating clients from athletes with injuries to those in need of a relaxing massage. After one year, my interest in skin
care piqued when I began to have issues with my own skin. I studied at Trident Technical College in 2007 and became licensed by the end of the year.
Skin Help Studio opened in 2012 and I have treated many skin
types and conditions, from acne and sensitive skin
to those with concerns of aging with sun spots and wrinkles. My goal is to help alleviate these issues with quality products and the knowledge of how to care for these issues with gentle but effective treatments. I love getting to know my Mount Pleasant and Charleston neighbors by helping them learn about prevention, protection and reducing inflammation. And as a mother, I understand the time constrains for some. I keep my home care regimen simple but effective.
I take a holistic approach to skincare. I treat the skin as a whole with detailed consultations about lifestyle, diet, stress and cater to those committed to taking care of their skin. This is not a one-product-to-"fix"-an-issue type of treatment plan. I help my clients find realistic goals to healing, correcting and strengthening the integrity of their skin as a whole. Skin care for me is a continued journey of education on new science, products, techniques and the latest scientific research on ingredients. My appetite for knowledge is insatiable and the one of the most intriguing part of my business. The most rewarding side is seeing positive changes in my client's skin led with information, products and working together to find solutions.
